This is not a drill. Expect Anushka Sharma to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The actress, along with husband Virat Kohli, met France Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenin at French Embassy in New Delhi. The Ambassador posted a picture from the meeting and revealed that the actress will be attending the Cannes Film Festival (scheduled to take place later this month). Emmanuel Lenin tweeted a photo and wrote in the caption, "A pleasure meeting Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma! I wished Virat and Team India all the best for the upcoming tournaments, and discussed Anushka's trip to Cannes Film Festival."

Anushka Sharma is the star of films like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, PK, Band Baaja Baaraat, Sultan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, to name a few. The actress happens to be a brand ambassador of the cosmetic giant L'Oreal and will most likely be representing the brand at the film festival. Last year, the actress shot for the brand's adverts in Paris and shared glimpses from her time there on her social media handle.
"When in Paris .. eat many croissants," Anushka Sharma wrote.
Speaking of Cannes, the desi representation at the film festival was very strong last year - Deepika Padukone led the pack as a jury member. Other attendees included actors Pooja Hegde, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tamannaah Bhatia, Grammy winning composers AR Rahman and Rickey Kej and actor R Madhavan whose film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect premiered there. TV stars Hina Khan and Helly Shah also attended. Akshay Kumar was also on the guest list. However, he had to cancel his trip after he contracted Covid-19. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a Cannes veteran, made back-to back appearances at the film festival.
