India's Avinash Sable, a national record holder in the 3000m steeplechase, placed ninth in the Diamond League final in Brussels on his 30th birthday. He clocked a time of 8:17.09, falling short of his national record of 8:09.91 set earlier this year. Kenya's Amos Serem won with a time of 8:06.90.
